When is an after-show not an after-show?

When Netflix gets things all Upside Down, that’s when.

Ever since this strange, sometime pointless, sometimes exhilerating phenomenon known as  was kicked off in 2011 by Chris Hardwick’s Talking Dead, The After-Show has become a ubiquitous event in TV Land.

NowNetflix is launching Beyond Stranger Things, a seven-episode after-show program hosted by “super fan” Jim Rash and promises “inspiration for the series, behind-the-scenes stories, and analyzes every aspect of the second season – answering all the burning questions.”

But, in the words of television’s favourite boss-eyed detective, “There’s just one thing…”

Beyond Stranger Things comes with a frankly bizarre caveat – a warning for viewers not to watch the spoiler-filled after-show until after you’ve finished season 2.

Of course, after shows are designed as follow-ons from their big brothers. Watch Walking Dead, stay tuned for Talking Dead and this process kinda falls flat when you release all ten episodes at once.

Netflix is quickly turning into a W1A meeting and someone needs to get fired!

Stranger Things Season Two drops on Thursday, 27th October.
