Krysten Ritter is back as super strong sleuth Jessica Jones in Marvel TV’s best show and she’s getting back to unfinished business… possibly with Kilgrave.
When we last saw Jessica, she and the rest of The Defenders (Daredevil, Luke Cage and Baboon-Arsed Wank Gibbon) had just walked free after their terrorist attack on New York’s Midland Circle skyscraper. Let’s hope this series steers away from the awful plot contrivances, bad writing and lack of cause and effect that plagued The Defenders and Iron Fist.
Jessica murdered her kidnapper/rapist nemesis, Kilgrave at the end of season one but the word on the street is that David Tennant will be back for one episode.
Here’s the official blurb:
New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.
Returning cast members feature Rachael Taylor as sister figure, Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as lawyer Jeri Hogarth and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse while new cast members include English actress Janet McTeer and Cuban, J.R. Ramirez.
In other good news, in addition to Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Dexter) overseeing things as showrunner, each of the thirteen episode run is helmed by a female director. My only concern is that thirteen episodes may be too many and that Jessica may run into pacing problems.
Jessica Jones Season Two lands on Netflix on 8th March.
