David Fincher returns to the familiar territory of his 2007 thriller, Zodiac as he steps back in time to bring us Mindhunter.
With a mugshot and Pittsburg pissing ground straight out of Hannibal and rap sheet straight outta Silence of the Lambs, it will be set in 1979, at the advent of behavioural profiling.
Co-produced by Charlize Theron, the brutal-looking series tells the tale of two FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench (played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany) who try to solve cases by interviewing imprisoned multiple murderers to try to understand how newly coined “serial killers” think.
The show is based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit and must be pretty damned impressive because a second season has already been commissioned.
Mindhunter finally gets out on parole on Friday 13th October 2017 on Netflix. Unlucky for some.
